Hard to believe that 2023 has only a few days left and 2024 is peeking just around the corner. Many of us like to look back and ponder the situations, experiences, and all the memories that we created throughout the past year. This is also the time that we begin to look ahead, visualizing the growth, the changes, and the shifts that the new year can bring.
From all of the reminiscing comes an opportunity to let go of what is not useful, meaningful, or just simply not resonating with us any longer. If we all look at the habits that we’ve created, we can see that, in fact, something has to change if we want our children and grandchildren to enjoy this beautiful Earth and all the gifts she has to offer.
We can start by considering the damage being done by the pollution that is poisoning our air, soil, food and water, and the creation of artificial food that harm our body. How about the use of fireworks that creates noise that frightens our pets, birds, and other wildlife, not to mention the harm it does to our veterans whose memories get triggered by the loud noise. Did you know that fireworks are contributing factor to air pollution? And how about the cutting down of beautiful, healthy trees that selflessly provide oxygen for us as we heartlessly choose to cut them down for our Christmas entertainment? These are just a few examples to bring to light for all of us to ponder.
I strongly believe that there is power within us. This force is so strong that when we collectively choose not to participate in an old system that no longer resonates with so many, we can make a significant radical change.
Our power is held in our visions, in our dreams, and ultimately in our actions. The main ingredient in manifesting is to be the change we want to see in others so that we can all create a new path for our future generations who deserve to live on a healthy, vibrant, and abundant Earth. We must believe in ourselves and we must believe in our children.
This year, as we all lose ourselves in the holiday busyness, I invite you to read the lyrics from a song that shares the powerful message of giving the greatest gift of all…. I wish we could hear this song played in every school, college, mall, business, radio and tv station everyday so that we are reminded of this powerful message. The lyrics remind us of how potent the power of Love that we hold inside of us really is.
"… I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be
… Everybody searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone who fulfill my needs
A lonely place to be
And so I learned to depend on me
… I decided long ago
Never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I'll live as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity
… Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all
Inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
… I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be
… I decided long ago
Never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I'll live as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity
… Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all
Inside of me
… The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
Is the greatest love of all
… And if, by chance, that special place
That you've been dreaming of
Leads you to a lonely place
Find your strength in love"
With Love,
